FAMOUS DICK by Sam Byron
Directed by Erin Callahan: is an actor, director, and dialect coach from northern Virginia. She was the dialect coach for UglyRhino’s mainstage productions of Grief and Celebration. Her most recent directing project was Screen by Nick Gandiello for the Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Festival this past summer. She is very thankful to the Rhinos and to her outrageously talented cast and stage manager! MARCUS – Nick Gandiello: is thrilled to be returning to TinyRhino, especially as this is his first time acting in NYC! As a playwright, Nick's recent credits include Screen for the Samuel French Off-Off-Broaway Festival, Travis Winters (American Globe Theatre; winner Best Play and Audience Favorite), and Still Jackie with TinyRhino. He is, as always, grateful to Erin, as well as Sam and this amazing team. M.F.A, Playwriting, The New School for Drama. LAURA – Paige LaRoss: is thrilled to return to the Lyceum! NYC credits include Foreplays with FullStop Collective, wreckless at Theater for the New City, and WISH: A Fire Story at NYU. Philly credits include Salvation Road at the Philly Fringe. Most recently she played Bernardo/the Ghost in Something Wicked with Lunar Energy Productions. She also likes doing voiceovers. Graduate of Ithaca College and the National Theater Institute. WAITER – Jermaine K. Bell STAGE MANAGER –Marian Brock: is stage managing for the first time in her life! Normally an actor, Marian starred in the Academy Award winning short film God of Love (2011 Live Action). Other shorts include ManicKat, One Nightstand (post), and Bridal Blues (post). Features include The Adventures of Paul and Marian (post), Spirit Cabinet (post), and ...And then. Marian does improv at NCT, the PIT, and with The Striking Viking Story Pirates. Originally from Austin, Texas, she likes Scrabble, and is a dance machine. OCCUPATION by Kyle Warren Directed by UglyRhino Artistic Director Danny Sharron: Danny Sharron is thrilled to be back at the Lyceum after directing the world premier of Kyle Warren's #nyc this summer for UglyRhino Originals. Directing credits include Ionesco's Rhinoceros (UglyRhino), Hard to Kill (Horse Trade), Dammit, Office Girl! (Subjective), Tape (Medicine Show), Sunday in the Park with George and Proof. He Assistant Directed Jeanine Tesori's American Songbook concert and was the Directing Assistant on the first US National Tour of Frost/Nixon. Other theater work includes Lincoln Center Theater and the Sundance Institute Theatre Lab. Currently, Danny is the Assistant to the Associate Producer at The Public Theater. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with degrees in Theater and Marketing. FRANCIS – Craig Mungavin: Craig previously appeared in UglyRhino's production of Rhinoceros directed by Danny Sharron. He is currently understudying off-Broadway in The Pearl Theatre Company's production of Richard II. He has worked extensively with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. He is a Poughkeepsie, NY native and received his BFA from Boston University. FERN - Maite Alvarez: is a Miami native and graduate of Northwestern University. She is psyched to be a part of TinyRhino's return after appearing in it's debut over the summer. She would like to thank the likes of Danny Sharron and Kyle Warren for bringing her back the the Lyceum. It's equally as fun as serving people Brussels sprouts and mac'n'cheese at Westville. LAMENESS OF A HORSE by Sarah Einspanier and Jeremy Bloom Collaboration w/ Zoe Schwartz and Robert Lavenstein Directed by Jeremy Bloom: Jeremy directs his original adaptations including La Boheme (Spoken), Peter-Wendy (Dark), and Leaves of Grass (Nude). Favorite spaces to work include: The Flea, Walkerspace, The Cherry Lane, Incubator Arts Project, NYU Grad, CSV, 45 Bleecker, The New York Botanical Gardens, in festivals, site specifically, and at the cell where he is a resident artist. Favorite assistant credits include: The Met, Broadway, LCT3, The Goodman, and Berkeley Rep (most frequently for Mary Zimmerman). Jeremy is a Drama League Directing Fellow, EST Resident Director, and participated in the TS Eliot US/UK Exchange at The Old Vic and Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab. www.jeremybloomplays.com and Sarah Einspanier JOAN - Zoe Schwartz: ANTONIO - Robert Lavenstein: is a filmmaker and photographer based in Brooklyn NY. He is currently marking his New York City acting debut with The Orange Person, on the very street that Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe used to frequent. If you know Patti Smith please feel free to introduce the two. He has many things to talk to her about. If he isn’t listening to her, he will probably be found lip singing to Donovan. THE HORSE - Tjasa Ferme: Tjasa was born and raised in Slovenia. She studied at the prestigious National Acting Academy (AGRFT) receiving a (Vesna) in 2006 (Slovenian Oscar) in 2006, the Sever's price for her acting achievements in classical roles in 2005/6 and a Special Mention from the jury for Best Actress in the Film Festival FF600 in 2007. In the USA, she has played many leading and principal roles in feature films including Revolution of Everyday Life (the revolutionary lead Tjasa Meese) which has been accepted into Tribeca's permanent collection, and more. Recent Theater: Before God was Invented (a caveman musical, a cross between Xena, Warrior Princess & Euripides.), the groundbreaking Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass (directed by Jeremy Bloom, produced by The Cell theatre), Red Noir (The Living Theatre), Tiger Tiger and Undying Love (Theater for the New City), Fecesarama (The Living Theatre), Makbeth (Dzieci) and more. Tjasa wrote and performed two one woman shows Cock Tales (The Cell theater and Midtown International Theatre Festival) and Adventures of a Slovenian in New York (The Cell Theater). HIT AND RUN by Matthew WiseMatthew Wise is from the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and the Atlantic Acting School. Some NY theater credits include 365 Days/365 Plays (The Public Theater), Celebration (Brooklyn Lyceum), and American Candy (Gotham Comedy Club). Some TV credits include Rescue Me (FX), The Freshman (MTVU), Monsters Inside Me (Animal Planet), and Celebrity Ghost Stories (Biography Channel). Directed by Kate Murray: Is the Casting Director for UglyRhino Productions, casting their previous Mainstage productions of Rhinoceros, Celebration, #NYC, and Grief. She is also the Casting Assistant at The Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival. This year she was the casting director for the 2011 BAFTA/Rocliffe New Writing Forum, presented at the 92nd Y as a part of the New York Television Festival. Other casting credits include,film: "Living The Dream" (Columbia Univ. MFA Thesis Film, dir. Gerry Kim), "Pick Something" (NYU MFA Film, dir. by Bella Wing-Davey), and "Two Ladies And A Gentleman" (NYU MFA Film, dir. WILLY – Jonathan Duran DYLAN – James Butler ENRIQUE – Eugenio Vargas TINYRHINO by Daniel Shepard Directed by UglyRhino Artistic Director Nicole Rosner: a native Floridian, arrived in New York at the end of 2008 from London where she spent three years working at the Royal Court and Arcola Theatres. New York highlights include Directing Pinter's Celebration and the premiere of David Kantounas' Grief at The Brooklyn Lyceum, the premiere of Itamar Moses’ short play Bottom of the Ninth, an Observership of Shakespeare in the Park with Daniel Sullivan and Michael Grief and Assistant Directing at The Flea Theatre. Nicole has recently worked as a Programmer/Producer for the Brooklyn Lyceum and Assembly Theatre at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. CHET DICKMAN – Daniel Shepard: Daniel is a Writer, Director and Producer from Independence, Kansas. Short Film: The Language of the Fox (Brooklyn Short Film Festival - Producer), Empty Fields (Writer, Producer). Feature Film: Spencer (Writer). TV: Inside The Actors Studio (Associate Producer/Production Associate). AP – Jake Ottosen: Jake was surprised to learn that Tiny Rhino is not a real rhino. Now he knows the truth: The Rhino is real, and it lives in our hearts. Favorite credits: Mark in RENT (The Theater Co.), Winston Puppet in CARTOON (Madcap Collective), and original characters with the [By The Mummers] ensemble (www.bythemummers.com). SMARTPHONE GIRL – Bryce Norbitz: Bryce Norbitz is the Executive Producer for UglyRhino Productions. She is very excited that TinyRhino is here to stay. This is her first performance in a play since 2006 so everyone be nice. SCANDAL GIRL – Lindsay Simon BOBBY – David Bly: is proudly making his Ugly Rhino debut with this Tiny Rhino festival, which is sure to be the best yet. He is the producer and host of the upcoming show Undiscovered (www.undiscoveredtheshow.com), and is a graduate of the MFA Acting program at The New School for Drama. He can currently be seen as one of the spokesfaces for Google, and will be appearing in 5 films slated for release in late 2011/early 2012. TOM THOMPSON – Kyle Patrick Brennan: KPB is thrilled to be popping his cherry with UglyRhino in this crazy little play. KPB can be seen in the feature films Burning Blue, 6 Degrees of Hell and the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises. Now DRINK!! ACTOR/JAZZ DANCER – Anna Perczak JAZZ SINGER – Erin Callahan: is an actor, director, and dialect coach from northern Virginia. Recent performances include productions of King Lear (Hudson Shakespeare), Deflowering Waldo (Collaborative Stages), Up to Date (Times Square Arts Center), L8 [bythemummers] (National Comedy Theater). She is super excited to be both acting and directing at this installation of TinyRhino! B.F.A., Ithaca College. TOTANYA BUTTERHEAD – Chelsey Fitzgerald: is a Jazz Vocalist, Songwriter, and Actor from Manchester, NH and has been getting into shenanigans in NYC since 2001. She has a BFA in Jazz and Contemporary music from The New School. Some recent gigs include Sweet Rhythm Jazz club and Flute and champagne lounge. Super psyched to be apart of Tin\rhino and playing the role of a lifetime as Ms. Butterhead! Cue the curtain DICK-MAN. |
