In November 2010, UglyRhino: a micro-season filled the Brooklyn Lyceum with two weeks of theater, music and parties. UglyRhino's inaugural micro-season was centered on two absurdist pieces, Pinter's "Celebration" and Ionesco's "Rhinoceros". These two plays were at the heart of a larger artistic celebration, using live music from nineteen bands and DJs to enhance the theatrical experience.

Celebration satirizes the proper social behavior of the upper class through a bizarrely quirky lens. Dysfunctional yet wildly fascinating couples in a restaurant provide a look at everything from society's misplaced traditions to the potential meaningless of modern existence, all while reminding us there is always "plenty to celebrate."

Ionesco's Rhinoceros takes place in a small town whose inhabitants are gradually turning into rhinoceroses. Can Berenger, our hero and everyman, find the willpower to fight the hostile takeover? Or will he succumb to the group pressure and become a rhinoceros himself?
